Reading, UK –Solid State Disks Ltd (SSDL) win SCSI CF Solid State upgrade contract with major semiconductor fabrication to upgrade the SCSI drives on their BA353 and BA356.
Solid State Disks are able to replace the RZ29B-VA drives individually or alternatively replace the DEC BA353-AA or Digital BA356-KC Hard drive expansion units entirely with a new solid state tower. Other DEC drives supported.
The CF Solid State Disk Drive has passed the customers test beds and live network testing and is currently deployed in a major UK fab network
DEC BA353-AA or Digital RA356-KC Hard drive expansion units can be replaced with the CF Solid State Disk Drive.
Existing mechanical expansion units are configured as DKA:0 to DKA:600. With the new SCSI SSD Solid State Tower the drives are identified the same for the Solid State SSD installed. ie. DKA:0, DKA:100 and DKA:200.
